In short
CSV Dedupe & Cleaner runs entirely in your web browser. Every file you open or paste is processed on your device and is never uploaded to us. We use no analytics, no tracking, no advertising and no cookies. The only thing saved is data in your browser's local storage, which you control.

Using the tool
All calculations and file handling happen with JavaScript inside your browser. The file is read with the browser's File API and the cleaned result is created as a download on your device. File contents are never stored by the tool, not even in local storage. We cannot see, access or recover this data.
Local storage (no cookies)
To keep your work between visits, the tool saves data in your browser's local storage under keys starting with csvd.:
csvd.options- your last used cleanup settings (no file data).csvd.recipes- named cleanup recipes you saved (Pro only, no file data).csvd.licenseKey- your Pro license key, if you activated one.
This data never leaves your device. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings. Legal basis: Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary for the function you requested) and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Hosting
The website is served by Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you load a page, Cloudflare necessarily processes technical data such as your IP address, the requested URL, date and time, and browser information to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. We do not use this data to identify you. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure and reliable delivery of the website). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
No external resources
We do not load fonts, scripts or images from third-party servers. No social media plugins, no embedded videos, no tracking pixels.
Buying Pro
If you buy Pro, payment is handled by Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., 1 Grand Canal Street Lower, Dublin 2, Ireland) on Stripe's checkout page. Stripe processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country, the product purchased and the payment status, which we need to deliver and verify your license and to meet our accounting obligations. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR. We keep this data for as long as statutory retention periods under German commercial and tax law require.
When Pro is active, the tool sends your license key to our license server to check that it is valid. No content you entered in the tool is sent.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to answer you (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and delete it when it is no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Brandenburg data protection commissioner (Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg).
Changes
We update this policy when the tool or the law changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
